Privacy notice
Effective October 5, 2026
Yonder is a creative learning service from The Basic Software Company. Teachers organize classes and learners use AI to plan, build and publish projects. Contact us about privacy at akeilsmith3@gmail.com.
Information you provide
Google sign-in is handled by Neon Auth. Yonder uses your account identifier, name and email to recognize you and connect your classes. Learners joining with a class code provide a display name and a return PIN. We store a hashed version of the PIN.
We store class membership, sessions, announcements and viewing status, project conversations, answers, uploaded images, plans, comments, generated files, reviews, publishing records and AI usage. When you confirm eligibility, we record the acknowledgement and policy version.
If you send a waitlist or school-interest form, we collect what you enter, including your email, role, idea and optional school details. We use a hashed network address to limit repeated submissions.
How we use information
We use information to provide accounts, classroom access, AI assistance, project storage and publishing, credit accounting, service security and support. Teachers and authorized co-teachers can view work, progress and usage in their classes.
Services that process information
- Neon: database storage and account authentication.
- Vercel: hosting the application and published learner websites.
- OpenAI: processing text and images for AI assistance, including relevant conversation, plan and project context.
- ElevenLabs: processing microphone audio when you choose voice typing. The transcript can be edited before you submit it.
- Stripe: payment checkout. Yonder stores payment identifiers, amounts, status and credit history. Card details are entered into Stripe, not Yonder forms.
These providers process information under their applicable service terms and privacy practices. Their retention practices vary by service. Avoid submitting sensitive personal information in prompts, images, audio or generated websites.
Public projects
Publishing uploads your generated website to Vercel at a public URL. Anyone with that URL may view and copy it. Review the website before publishing and remove information you do not want to make public. Private classroom access does not make a published website private.
Cookies and technical information
We use cookies for sign-in and to carry an idea from the marketing site into the app. The idea cookie lasts 24 hours; a cookie holding the post-sign-in destination lasts 10 minutes. Cookie expiry does not erase a saved project. Hosting and service providers also process technical information to operate and secure their services. Yonder currently has no advertising or marketing analytics integrations.
Retention and your requests
Stored work remains available for ongoing classes and return visits. Removing a learner, leaving a class or archiving a class does not erase its records. Yonder currently has no self-service account-erasure or published-site removal control.
For access, correction, deletion or removal of a published site, email akeilsmith3@gmail.com with the relevant account or project URL. We may need to verify your identity and authority before acting. Payment, security or other records may need to be retained for legal obligations; copies in backups or with service providers may not be removed immediately. Applicable privacy rights are not limited by this notice.
Learners and age
Yonder is for learners aged 13 or older and teachers aged 18 or older. Learners under 18 need a parent or guardian’s permission. Teachers must have authority to invite learners and use their classroom information. Yonder is not offered to children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided information, contact us so we can investigate and arrange removal.
Changes
We update this notice when our practices change and show the effective date above. Material changes requiring additional notice or consent will be handled as required by applicable law.
